The moment Vicky met Fly she decided she wanted to bring her home!
'Fly's' show career started with a bang!.... Best Baby Puppy in Show at her very first show at just 3 months old! Followed up quickly by another four Baby in Group awards. She was also Best Baby Puppy in Show at the Flat Coated Retriever Associations Championship and Open Shows in November 2008!
In Total, Fly won 30 Class in Group and 7 Class in Show awards in her first year, making her the biggest winning Flat Coated Retriever puppy in Australian history!
Fly finished her show title at the age of 13 months, something which we had a part of, Vicky being there to handle Fly for her last points for her title and winning Junior in Group at the same show!
Fly gained her 500th Challenge point at just 22 months old and at 28 months old, Fly won her First Best Exhibit in Group award.
At the Flat Coated Retriever Championship Show in 2009 Fly was awarded Bitch CC, Runner Up To Best in Show and Best Junior
in Show under UK Gundog Specialist Mr S Hollings topping off a truly memorable year in the ring!
Fly won Flat Coated Retriever Puppy of the Year for 2009 awarded by the Flat Coated Retriever Association of Victoria.
During 2010 Fly won numerous class in group, in shows, Best Exhibit and Runner up in Group awards and amassed an impressive 400 challenge points! She was also the No 1 Flat Coated Retriever bitch in the country.
And then she came to New Zealand. It took a little while for us to get some coat back on her but when we did, her other mother Debbie Hull and I showed her to A Best In Specialty and Reserve Best In Specialty in the same weekend! We are so happy with this lovely girl who is also a favourite around the home. We are again working on getting her coat back after the lovely puppies she has produced for us but are looking forward to getting her back out and about later on in 2013!
